George Dulin – Circa 1810 to 1895

From a newspaper article reporting the days events at the Middlesex Sessions, September 5th 1864, at Clerkenwell.

The September Sessions for criminal business commenced on the 5th September 1864, at Clerkenwell, before Mr. Serjeant Gaselee and other learned gentlemen. The calender contained the names of 86 prisoners, of whom five only are marked as having received a superior education .

The bail cases were to be heard on Wednesday……

The following was reported:

George Dulin 51, described as a commercial traveller, and well connected, was convicted of stealing a gold locket and other articles, of the value of £5., from his master, Mr. A. J. Darling, and sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment with hard labour.

Sessions House, Clerkenwell Green

The courts were build in 1799 and closed in 1919 and the premises converted to offices. In 1979, the Masonic Foundation acquired the building and restored it to its former glory.
