Congratulations

Posted by Chris Wattle, Sidney, Australia. Tuesday. 18 November 2008 04:17

Congratulations on a great site John. I knew very little about the Dulin family so got nearly all of my info from you. However, when I first came across it I was not sure how reliable it was so took the trouble to cross-check as many entries as I could across to the GRO and other BMD indexes and found very few discrepancies proving you do have high quality data. I did wish that some of the photos were larger in size but then I must not be greedy. Thanks again for the opportunity to use your site.

Bruce Henry Dulin

Posted by Peter Bright, Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. Saturday, 15 November 2008 06:18

Bruce Henry Dulin was my uncle in Sydney, Australia, and his sons Roger, sadly deceased, and Anthony and his daughter Lucia are my cousins. Mr Chris Wattle, my second cousin in Sydney, has just supplied the Dulin family and me with a comprehensive Family Tree utilizing information gleaned from this site. I wish to express my gratitude to Chris Wattle and to John Appleton for their diligent efforts.

The Profits

Posted by Roger Gregory, London SE 18. Tuesday, 17. June 2008. 13:34

I came upon this website whilst trying to find out about what happened to the 1960s beat group -”The Profits” I used to play in with Malcolm Coulson, and yes it’s the same Malcolm D Coulson – couldn’t mistake a smile like that!
I unfortunately lost touch with them after I went to university, and then on to a career in control engineering in the petrochemicals industry. I was very sad to learn that he had died so young, I have many memories of our time together in the 5th form and science 6th at Catford school Brownhill Road, and of lunch times with Malcolm doing “electronics” with various kit like guitar amplifiers and old radios and TVs in the basement of the Broadfield Road house.
I have a few photos of if anyone would be interested. Please contact me.

Super Site – amazed to see my ancestor Eliza Masters on there – I didn’t know anything about the marriage to Edward Hate in 1877. So it filled in a bit more of my Masters family jigsaw! Sincerely, Peter Wilson.

Born in Harpurhey

Posted by Karen Irving Ottawa, Ontario. Thursday 1 December 2005. 23:23

Hello! I found your site while in hot pursuit of my great-grandfather, Frederick Appleton, and his brother, Henry. They were born in Harpurhey, Manchester; their father was John Gaskell Appleton, and their mother was Sarah, but that’s about all I can find out about their background…so far. Frederick moved to British Columbia in the 1880s, married Katherine Crosson, and eventually settled in Victoria. Henry never married, but was in the India with the Royal Engineers; he went on to become an avid and accomplished mountaineer and amateur botanist.
Your site is truly an inspiration for me — beautifully set up, clear, and enjoyable to browse. I hope to return often.
Karen
